I have finally decided to try minerals makeup. This is something that I’ve been wanting to do, since I started caring about my appearance and my skin again. Since I really don’t know what is the best out there, I took it upon myself to try two different brands to see which one I like best. A big thanks goes to one of my new beauty blogging friends, Jami over at Bionic Beauty. She hooked me up with a couple of websites that offer FREE Sample Kits (you only pay a $4 to $5 S&H). I placed my order last night! Here are the links to them.
Everyday Minerals - You select 3 shades of foundation, a blush and a concealer. Shipping was just only $3.97 for First Class, and I just checked the status of my order and it has already been shipped!! I’m impressed!
Signature Minerals - You get to select 6 of any of their Signature colors whether it be foundation, blush, concealer, eyeshadow or finishing veils. Not sure if it has shipped, because I don’t see on their site where I could possibly check my order status, but they have an 800 number that I could call to check, and I may do that. Their shipping charge was $5.35, so not too bad. Plus I got one more choice, so still a great deal.
What’s even cooler, is that both companies are located in the south, Everyday is in Texas and Signature is in Alabama, so me being in Mississippi, I should have them in a couple of days! I’ll report back with a complete review once I’ve tried them! Hey! I may even do a before and after shot, whatcha think?
I am a SAHM of 2 Great kids who has struggled with weight all my life, getting up to 300 lbs and then finally changing my habits and working out to get to 136. Now up a bit again, I am back at it sharing my story hoping to inspire others.

Let me know what you think of them. Sometimes I have a love/hate relationship with mineral makeup. In the winter, my skin is hard to match and dry so the powder seems to settle into my flaky skin and doesn’t do enough to moisturize. In the summer, I’m pretty good with the minerals- especially since they contain natural SPF.
I think you’ll like the size of samples from Everyday Minerals. I’m still using up mine! I just transferred them into “Stackers” (Which you can find at craft stores and walmart) since they are like a bigger-mouthed jar and hence, make it easier to get your brush in and apply. But really, a little on the minerals goes a long way.
Before & after shots are a great idea. Can’t wait to see!
