Here’s a list of 7 foods that help fight aging. I remember being told as a child, “Eat your veggies!” I was told that if I did eat my vegetables, I would grow up strong. But what I didn’t know, is that eating my “veggies” would also help fight aging later on down the line, something that I definitely need to think about now that I’m pushing 40. OMG, I can’t believe I just said that. LOL
Check out the list and get started on staying the beautiful and young you!!
- Avocados - Studies show that avocados are very rich in mono saturated fat which aids in reducing cholesterol in the body. It also contains vitamin E, which is a huge contributor to healthy looking skin.
- Carrots - These are high in beta carotene. Studies show that people who consume one carrot each day can significantly reduce aging and also aids in warding off many other diseases.
- Berries - Which contain antioxidants. Antioxidants help fight off disease, help us maintain our youth and keeps us healthier longer. Black berries, blue berries and black currants would be examples of berries that contain antioxidants.
- Fish - One way to prevent aging is by getting Omega 3 fatty acids, which are usually found in fish.
- Nuts - These are very rich in fiber which in turn makes them very effective in fighting off the signs of aging. But keep in mind, raw is best. Eating salted and roasted ones may do more harm than good, especially if eaten in very large quantities.
- Pasta or Brown Rice - We all need energy to function on a daily basis. Our bodies need to have carbohydrates to burn in order to have energy. The best source of carbs are pasta or brown rice.
- Water - The very last and one of the most important things we need is water. Water aids in detoxification and helps keep our skin smooth. Although, most of us have been told to drink at least eight 8oz glasses a day, studies show that the body needs more than that. The Institute of Medicine advises that men consume roughly about 13 cups of total beverages a day and women consume about 9 cups a day.
